The Nelson Classic will be played as a 4-person scramble at Bakker Crossing (map). If you’re not familiar with a scramble format, read the rules below. They have nothing to do with how you prefer your eggs.
In a scramble format, each player will hit his or her tee shot to begin each hole. The team will choose the best shot and from that spot each player will hit his or her second shot. If there are no great shots to choose from you may use a mulligan. Mulligans are available for purchase prior to the tournament starting for $20 per team. This provides for one mulligan per player. NOTE: Mulligans may not be used on contest shots… (hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive and longest putt, etc.)
This format will continue until completion of the hole and a single score is recorded. Upon completion of the round, the 18-hole total will be the team’s overall score.
Cheater’s Package Available!
Let’s face it, we could all use a little help out on the course, you might as well chip in a few bucks and not feel so bad about it. Details below:
Each team gets 4 mulligans to be used on ANY shot at any time during your round.
Each team gets a 3-foot piece of string to be used as a “gimmie.” Each player can use this string once to consider anything within the string a “gimmie.”
